Welcome to Medicare Class Schedule
Confused about Medicare? Attend one of our Welcome to Medicare classes for up-to-date information about Medicare plans and supplements.
Welcome to Medicare is a free HICAP class designed for those new to Medicare and for those who are considering replacing their current Medicare insurance plans.
Classes are presented at various locations throughout Contra Costa County. These classes are very popular, so registration is required for class attendance; click the Learn more button for a list of class locations and dates, and information about how to register to attend one of the classes in your area.
These are some of the topics covered in this class:
- Basic Medicare benefits
- Medicare alphabet soup and what A-B-C-D means
- Medicare supplemental (Medigap) plans
- Medicare Advantage plans: HMO, PPO, PFFS, MSA
- Prescription drug plans
- Coordination with other health insurance including employer plans, retirement plans, VA, and COBRA
- Retirement health plans
- COBRA
Welcome to Medicare classes are scheduled at locations throughout Contra Costa County. These classes are very popular, and as a result registration is necessary. Please phone a site at least two business days prior to the class you want to attend.
